Shayla M. Holt, currently in Nashville, TN, is an abstract artist superhero alias sometimes, SMHREALLY, who grew up in Smyrna, TN. I create because of the Highest Entrusted Humanity with extraordinary talents and gifts, and it is my sacred responsibility to honor that divine trust through visual expression. My art is a celebration of this blessing, a channel of expression for gratitude, exploration, and connection. Just as paint meets canvas, music pulses through every piece I make. Lyrics and beats hold the same power as brushstrokes and pigments; both transport us to other realms, stir deep emotions, and awaken thoughts we might otherwise never encounter.
My work gravitates toward vibrant colors that sing with energy, rich textures that invite touch and discovery, and a fluid motion that mirrors the rhythm of life itself. I draw heavily from music, particularly album covers that evoke nostalgia and carry listeners (and now viewers) into places of memory, longing, and reflection. A well-crafted beat or poignant lyrics can instantly shift your spirit; my paintings aim to do the same visually. Through layered color, dynamic movement, and soulful composition, I seek to create portals that resonate with the same emotional depth and inspirational force found in powerful songs.
Ultimately, my art exists at the intersection of sound and sight. It is an offering of thanks for the gifts we’ve been given and an invitation for others to pause, feel, remember, and dream. In every piece, I hope viewers find their own journey—transported by color and texture just as they are moved by melody and word
